Whether Fair or Foul

I believe it's important to take a look out the window and do something useful such as gaze at the clouds and cock an eye at the weathervane. Holding up a moist finger outside can go a long ways toward helping me gain an understanding of my surroundings -- not to mention exposing my bare face to a rainy sky, or tramping through slush, skidding in snow and skating on ice.

Weather and its related natural manifestations persistently and energetically shapes us socially and individually, dominating our subonscious minds in ways we often are too dim to perceive.

For example take the rainstorm we're having right now in DC. Over three cool, cloudy days we have slowly been inundated. The slow-moving front has generated 1.76 inches of rain over the past two days and the intense trailing boundary squeezed out another 1-2 inches today; another 0.5 inches is expected this evening.

Can you say mushy ground?
